The Suez Canal Defence Monument at Ismailia.  This memorial was constructed south of Lake Timsah between 1926 and 1930 by the Universal Suez Ship Canal Company to commemorate the British and French forces who had protected the Canal from Turkish attack during the First World War.

This photograph was taken by Lieutenant Robert 'Rex' King-Clark from his Miles Whitney Straight aeroplane, registration G-AERS.
