The tablet added to the memorial at Caesar's Camp.

The memorial was erected to commemorate the members of the 1st Battalion who died during 1899 and 1900, the first years of the Boer War.

The war did not end until 1902.  This tablet was added to the memorial later, and records the battalion's total casualties.
